“True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.”
Below, I posted an inspiring short story about true love that was sent to me from a friend……
It was a busy morning, when an elderly gentleman arrived to the hospital where I worked, to have stitches removed from his thumb. As I treated his wound, I noticed he kept looking at his watch and I asked if he was in a hurry. He told me that he needed to be at the nursing home by 9:00 a.m. to have breakfast with his wife. He also shared that his wife had been there for five years, she had Alzheimer’s disease, and that she no longer recognized him.
I was surprised and ask him, “And you still meet her every morning for breakfast, even though she doesn’t know who you are?” He smiled as he patted my hand and said. “She doesn’t know me, but I still know who she is.”
The woman who sent me this story added a lovely empowering quote, I’d also like to share with you today…..
“Life isn’t about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.”
